LoopRec is a Chrome extension for YouTube that helps users repeat selected video ranges, save playback segments, practice subtitles, and locally record the current tab or a user-selected area.
What LoopRec handles
- Website content and media from the YouTube tab you are actively using, including visible video/audio content while recording, page/video title, playback position, and subtitle/caption text when available.
- Current browsing context for the active YouTube tab, such as the current video identifier or page context needed to keep A/B points and saved segments associated with the correct video.
- User-created extension data, such as A/B points, repeat count, playback speed, saved segment names/timestamps, and subtitle-trainer preferences.
- Locally created recordings when you explicitly start the Record feature.
LoopRec does not run analytics, does not create a user account, and does not collect advertising identifiers.
How information is used
The information above is used only to provide LoopRec's visible features: A/B looping and playback controls, saved video segments, subtitle practice, user-initiated recording, and restoration of locally saved preferences.
Recording starts only after a user action. For Active Media Area recording, LoopRec highlights the detected media area and asks for confirmation before recording.
Storage and retention
LoopRec stores extension settings and saved segment metadata in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. Recordings are created locally and saved through the browser to your device. LoopRec does not upload recordings to a developer-operated server.
Local extension data remains on the device until you delete it, clear extension data, or uninstall LoopRec. Recording files remain wherever you save them until you delete them.
Data sharing and transmission
LoopRec does not sell user data. LoopRec does not transfer captured website content, browsing context, subtitles, saved segment data, or recordings to advertising networks, data brokers, analytics providers, or other third parties.
LoopRec currently has no developer-operated backend for user data. Its core processing is performed locally in the browser.
Remote code
LoopRec does not download or execute remotely hosted code. Extension logic is packaged with the extension.
Permissions

Chrome Web Store Limited Use
User data is used only to provide or improve LoopRec's disclosed user-facing purpose. It is not used for personalized advertising, credit-worthiness, data brokerage, or unrelated profiling.
Your choices
You can stop a recording at any time from LoopRec. You can delete downloaded recording files using your operating system and remove locally stored extension data by clearing LoopRec/Chrome extension storage or uninstalling the extension.
